Situated in Piazza Roosevelt one of the most beautiful and important areas of Cattolica, are the majestic municipal Town Hall buildings of the Queen of the Adriatic.
The recently restored elegant council building dating back to 1914, faces an imposing, open, green garden area.
The important structure, in neo-renaissance style, rich in decorative ornaments and also once with mosaics that have disappeared over the years, was planned by the engineer Marcovigi and then modified by the engineer Pasquale Pensa.
Fountains and water games
A spectacular scene awaits those tourists who, after strolling along tree lined avenues can rediscover the pleasures of relaxing under the shade of bushes and flowering plants.
Furthermore thanks to the presence of the beautiful fountains which during the hot summer days add, with their water displays, even more character to the square, offering a refreshing and cooling spot for its numerous visitors.
Particularly at night this enchanting and attractive area becomes an important meeting point for all, in the town of Cattolica.
During the month of May, Roosevelt square becomes the background to the traditional flower festival, which takes place along the main streets of Cattolica's town centre, and welcomes back year after year a great number of tourists.
The whole of the centre is closed to traffic and becomes a grand theatrical exhibition of plants and flowers, so for a few days the town is lit up with a thousand colours. Hence the municipal square perfectly represents the spirit of the town of Cattolica because it includes the modern and the traditional in complete harmony.
